Our country lodge in the heart of the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is usually reserved for private groups. However, this summer we are welcoming families and small groups for the very first time for an authentic bunk room adventure.
Book your own exclusive dorm room in Mendip Lodge - our converted country hotel. This is a real hostel experience with the luxury of your own en-suite toilet and shower.
All our rooms have been recently refurbished and include solid metal bunks, mattresses, wood clad walls, mirror, one double power point and USB sockets. You'll just need your own bedding, pillows and towels.
The lodge cafe and tavern is open every day and as a resident guest you'll get FREE tea, coffee, hot chocolate and squash at the tavern for the duration of your stay.
Rooms are only available Friday and Saturday nights and MUST be booked both nights. Our system will allow you to book for one night, but one night bookings will be automatically cancelled and refunded.
You can check in from 2pm and check out by 6pm.
With an outdoor activity centre a short walk through the woods you'll have access to rock climbing, canoeing, caving, skiing, tobogganing, frisbee golf, abseiling, bushcraft and more.
After the sacrifices everyone's made this year, it's time to get off-grid. Reboot and reconnect with your family and friends in the great outdoors!

Are dogs allowed?
Sorry, dogs are not allowed in our indoor accommodation. They are very welcome in our campsite though!
How do I book activities?
We strongly recommend booking these in advance to avoid disappointment. When you make your booking you will receive an email with your exclusive camper discount code.
Do I have to book activities in advance?Activities that do not require an instructor like frisbee golf and orienteering will always be available. Our instructor based activities in private groups can be booked online. We may be able to offer activities on the day dependent on how busy the campsite is and if we have an instructor available. We don’t want you to miss out so if there is an activity you really want to try we strongly recommend you book in advance.
What is your COVID policy?
The government have confirmed campsites can open from July 4th. However, please ensure you have travel insurance to ensure you and your group are covered in case you are asked to isolate or have COVID symptoms at the time of your booking.
The current government advice restricts groups of more than six people from outside your household or more than two families staying out overnight together.
If social distancing is still expected at the time of your visit we will ask everyone to do their bit. Don't worry we have plenty of space and outside is the safest place to be! Current guidance requires you maintain 2m social distance from people not from your own household.

Our activity and snowsport centre is just a short woodland walk away. Due to current government guidelines on group sizes and socialising we are only able to offer private activity sessions in your small groups or household units. Our prices are for your own exclusive group session which include a qualified instructor and all specialist equipment. Finally, please bear with us. Everything that needs doing will take slightly longer so your patience is greatly appreciated. We are constantly updating our guidelines, reviewing training and refining procedures to ensure both our team and guests are safe.
When can I check in?
When do I check out?
You are very welcome to stay all day on your day of departure. If we are really busy we may ask you to strike camp by 2pm - but you wont be rushed off the site!!! We do ask that all rent-a-tents and anyone camping next to them vacate their pitch by 11am as we have new guests booked into those specific tents/areas and our team need time to deep clean.

Yes! We have free, high speed, fibre wifi!
What if I need to cancel?
We recommend you take out travel insurance to cover you should you need to cancel for medical reasons or due to a period of enforced quarantine.
If you do need to cancel your booking please let us know by email as soon as possible. Your booking will be cancelled with effect from the day we receive your email notification and subject to our standard cancellation charges:
More than 30 days notice - administration fee of £15
14 – 30 days notice - 50% of the total booking charge
Less than 14 days or after the booking start date - 100% of the total booking charge
If you cancel your booking after the booking start date, we cannot issue any refund for any remaining nights of your booking. This does include where you need to cancel your booking for any reason outside of your reasonable control, including without limitation, inclement weather and illness. We strongly recommend you take out holiday insurance to compensate you in these circumstances.
If, for whatever reason, you do not turn up on the arrival date stated on your booking confirmation, without prior notice this shall be considered a cancellation.
What if we cancel your booking?
This would always be an absolute last resort and only if its either considered unsafe to be open or Government guidance changes and we are not permitted to operate.
We will always try and find alternative dates for you to visit but we also strongly recommend that you obtain appropriate travel insurance for all members of your group. This should ideally cover illness, cancellation and injuries during your stay as refunds will not be possible if circumstances outside of our control force our closure.
What if I need to move my booking?
We will always do our best to accommodate changes to bookings. However, weekends are extremely popular so moving your booking to a different weekend may not be possible. Please give us as much notice as possible.
