Great campsite with really great facilities and so clean. Perfect for those with kids that need to be set free, and there’s Thatchers Cider just down the hill. The site stocks a good range of basic camping supplies, just remember no cash.

All the entertainment was excellent and enjoyed by our 9 year old (and us). The astronomy dome was great and Simon who ran it was very engaging. Being close to the skiing was great. Woodland walks were lovely and very good for de-stressing. A lovely weekend.

Mendip Basecamp is honestly one of the best campsites I’ve visited. It has a perfect balance of natural beauty, adventure, and comfort. The site is spacious and well-maintained, with clean toilets, hot showers, and a laid-back, welcoming vibe.

Second time we’ve camped here and we absolutely love it! Love that you can choose where to pitch and there’s lots of space. Great facilities and they are always clean. Brilliant play area & games for the kids - bring a bucket and spade!

Best campsite we've stayed at! Just returned from a week camping at Mendip Basecamp with 2 children aged 12 & 8. We had a wonderful stay.
Friendly, helpful staff. Well stocked, well priced shop and food service with breakfast rolls and coffee.
Showers and toilets are kept very clean and there are enough of them around site.
Plenty to keep you entertained on site with NERF arena, climbing wall and play area.

Without doubt the best unknown gem of a campsite there is! This place is excellent for chilling out as well as having fun with the kids.
Great staff, a beautiful setting and some fantastic activities, with brilliant instructors. The campsite has a really nice vibe with a very well stocked shop area.

Really nice campsite, not too busy. Nice location not too close to any major towns.
They have fire pits for hire which is a nice touch and lots of activities for younger kids.
The best part was the close proximity of the activities for older kids and adults, including caving, abseiling, canoeing, SUP, orienteering and the dry ski slope.
A lot packed into a small area!!

We’ve just got back from a weekend away at Mendip Basecamp. It’s a beautiful campsite set in gorgeous countryside .
We were super impressed with the entire place. The camping set up is fantastic with the freedom to pitch where you like, with friends and family and feels very free and easy. The facilities are excellent, very clean and Accessible. Every single member of staff we encounter was polite, friendly and REALLY helpful. We were pretty self-sufficient while we were there but if we needed anything, they were more than happy to help!
As we were leaving, we became aware that it was the first weekend of the year for them and a lot of the staff were brand-new, making the service we received even more impressive!
We absolutely loved the Mendip Lodge with live music on the Saturday night and pie Minister pies, even better!
Definitely try the tobogganing which was really well run and the kids absolutely loved!
We can’t wait to go back with our friends again and try out some of the other activities.
I would highly recommend this site to anyone!
Nearby activities: Tons of activities on site lots of which are free the rest of which are brilliant! Live music at Mendip Lodge every weekend in the evening! We also walked to Churchill to the beautiful and very picturesque Crown Inn where we were made very welcome!
